A+E STUDIOS ANNOUNCES FIRST-LOOK DEVELOPMENT DEAL WITH FEATURE FILM AND TELEVISION PRODUCER RACHEL WINTER
New York, NY–March 24, 2015–A+E Studios has inked a first-look television development and producing agreement with Academy Award®-nominated producer Rachel Winter, it was announced today by Barry Jossen, Executive Vice President of A+E Studios.
“A+E has fantastic and diverse programming among their various networks. To be able to explore so many different creative avenues of storytelling and formats is an amazing opportunity” said Winter. “I’m over the moon and very grateful to be working with Barry and his talented staff.”

Now, we can bring that exceptional perspective to A+E Studios,” said Jossen. “Rachel’s vision and impeccable taste are perfectly aligned with our growing roster and the innovative original programming we want to produce.”
Under the pact, which covers series and other forms of scripted drama television, Winter will work closely with the A+E Studios team to develop, create and produce quality original programming for the A+E portfolio of networks including A&E, Lifetime and HISTORY, as well as other Networks.
Most notably, Winter, along with Robbie Brenner, produced the critically acclaimed feature film “Dallas Buyers Club,” starring Matthew McConaughey, Jared Leto and Jennifer Garner, which received six Oscar nominations, including Best Picture.
Winter has recently solidified a deal with Televisa USA to executive produce for television Anne Rice’s legendary The Sleeping Beauty series of erotic novels. Winter is also producing an untitled drama for ABC starring Felicity Huffman, who will also produce, which centers around the fearless leader of a team of young agents on the New York City Joint Terrorism Task Force. The project was recently given a put pilot commitment from the network.
On the film side, Winter most recently produced “Stealing Cars.” Based on true events, the film tells the story of a tragic car accident that sends a confident yet rebellious teen into a difficult situation within the juvenile penal system. Additionally, Winter is re-teaming with Emmy Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated writer/producer Terence Winter (“Boardwalk Empire,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”) to produce the untitled LeBron James biopic, which she set up at Universal with LeBron James and Maverick Carter as producing partners.
